How to Setup an Events Calendar on your PMA Website

The easiest way to have an events calendar on your PMA website is to use your Google Calendar. But certainly you don’t want to display everything that is currently on your calendar, so you’ll need to create a new calendar in Google. We’ll show you how.

Create a new Google Calendar in three clicks

google-calendar2In your Calendar, go to “My calendars” on the left and click the little down-arrow. Then click “Create new calendar.”

This will be the calendar that is shown on your website.

Name your calendar Upcoming Events, and click “Share this calendar with others” and “Make this calendar public.

Then click the Create Calendar button at either the top or the bottom of the page.

Click Yes on the warning popup — this will ONLY share the new calendar. Your main calendar and any other calendars you have created will remain private.

Now create sample event on this calendar for this week. You can remove this event when you’re done setting up the event calendar on your website.

Your calendar should now look something like the one at the top of this post.

Modify your calendar settings and add it to your website

Now you ready to prepare your calendar for the web.

Click the down-arrow to the right of your events calendar, and you’ll see this popup:

Select whichever color will look good on your website, and then click on “Calendar settings.” Scroll down to the “Embed This Calendar” section.

Put your cursor in the right-hand box that says Paste this code into your website. Highlight all the code in this box (Ctrl-A on Windows) and copy it (Ctrl-C on Windows).

Now go to your website Dashboard > Pages >Events. Click on the Text tab at the top of the editing area.

Paste in the code that you copied (Ctrl-V on Windows). Click the Update button on the right to update and save this page.

The sweet joy of success!

Now go to your website and click the Event link in the top navigation. Boom! You have an events calendar for all your clients to enjoy.
